Weekend Adventures

It started Friday with a BIG garage sale. My friend Pam had closed her store over a year ago and had a basement full of merchandise to get rid of. I have the perfect driveway and tree to set up under, so why not I say, bring it on. We had quite a time coordinating our schedules, but knowing Sunday was The Coburg Antique Show I said oh well… We can do it Friday and Saturday… Opps I forgot Saturday was Albany’s Antiques in the Streets Show. She was on her own for Saturday, thankfully her husband/helper would be available. We had a great time, and got rid of a basement load of stuff!

Dave and I were still packing the truck at midnight,,, and after an hour and a half nap we were up and going. We like to be first in line because Dumbo, pulling the trailer takes up a lot of room. (more than 65 feet)

Kinda makes my flimsy excuse for a garden look even worse by comparison.

We made ourselves feel better with a truck load of produce, and flowers.

My Trip to Oz…

My little trip down the yellow brick road lead straight to Oz.  Imagine my excitement when it was my turn to see the Wizard, oh yeah a brain!!  What I didn't plan for was that the Wizard of Oz would be so OLD, and hard of hearing... I asked for a brain, he said, ”what?"  I said, “I want to be smart!” He thought I said, I want a heart. “ So, now I just love more.  Great, like I wasn’t over the top excited about almost everything already???

I will try again another time for a brain, who wouldn’t want to be  heart smart?? Sorry just a little attempt at humor…

I loved the way my space turned out at the

I also loved having Sam there, helping me

And only 2 hours later than I had planned I was on my way to the opposite side of Portland to set up for a wedding.

I was so excited to help my friend Carol set up for her daughters wedding this weekend.  We had 65 dozen pink roses to scatter in a delightful way. And you know I LOVE pink roses!076We took over the conference room at the hotel and made our own little florist workshop.  The room had windows to the lobby so we were making quite a color spectacle.

I have been friends with these women for over 25 years and have watched their babies grow into beautiful young women.  What a pleasure it was to spend time with all of them.

I loved it!

I only took about 600 pictures so I made a collage of the bride so I could show more…  I know you will LOVE it!

I’m Off To See The Wizard

That would be me on the right.

  offtoseethewizard

I’m the one going for a brain…

scarecrow

Most definitely will pay attention to the following warning…

th_7e7f2d43Yesterday was proof enough that I must get a brain, or at the very least, use the one I have…

I had the best of plans, get up early bake a cake for my friend whose dad died.  That was great until the very end where you brown the topping…  forgot it was in the oven and made charcoal topping…

Then next I spent 45 minutes waiting at doctor’s office and as if that wasn’t torture enough another hour waiting at Wal-Mart for it to be filled… No, I couldn’t just drive thru where I usually go, because I was going to be paying for this one myself…  Since I had lost my prescription and needed to refill before the month was over… Just a mere $60 later…

Finally I’m off to Monticello, to get my area together… With only 3 hours to do my magic, ( I need a good 8) I knock over my neighbors display (thankfully not the transfer ware).

Naturally I’m far from finished, the store is closing.  It is time to leave, so I haul the extras out on a cart and I’m off… I have 3 hours until all the stores will close and I’m in the BIG City, so I will do a little shopping.

When I stop at the thrift store a few miles down the road, YIKES!!  No purse!!  Well now what?? I call the store, no answer…  Did I leave my purse on the sidewalk next to the dumpster?? Where I unloaded the cart??

 small_1840257

Well naturally I must go back and look, and while I’m backing out…I’m thinking about should I try and cancel the credit cards if I don’t know if it is lost or just left inside???  And how I am going to tell the doctor I lost the prescription again…

I hit that great big pole I was parked next too… Not just a tiny little bit but 2 panels worth…

Oh great!  I suppose somehow that was my fault???

Back to Monticello, where of course every car behind me is a cop and KNOWS I don’t have my license and I will be getting a ticket…

I finally get back, and no purse by the dumpster, I’m thinking of course someone found it, sitting there waiting to be taken…

And then.. who should happen to drive by as she was leaving?

glenda

It was Joyce, the one with a key (and the brains). Thankfully I had left my purse in my space…

So, when you hear me I chanting…

Just Do It!

Do you ever spend more time trying to decide than it would take to just do it?  Today I will be packing the trailer for the Oregon City Show and for the Fall Premier Show at Monticello.  I am looking (in my mind) for a great idea.  I keep coming up blank… Maybe that is where the saying, “my mind went blank came from?”  Or perhaps, “ I keep drawing a blank?”

Not as if I don’t have something to wear while I work, there is my new apron, maybe I should save it for “special”?  But if I wear it for this dreaded ordeal maybe today could be “special”?

apron and chaps 006

Or should I wear this, while I work?

Now that would certainly be “special”…

apron and chaps 028 See what I mean?

So many important decisions??

Is this enough jewelry?

apron and chaps 029

And if that weren’t

enough to worry about…

What should I eat?

These yummy looking tomatoes?

apron and chaps 044

Or these lovely peppers?

apron and chaps 046

Or should I have both?

And you thought I had nothing to worry about?

Molly Mo’s Antique Faire

Saturday was the perfect day for an outdoor show. The weather was just right, we had a great time visiting with each other and the steady stream of customers that came to the show at Molly Mo’s on Saturday. I decided last minute to take Dumbo, originally I had planned to just take a small load in the pickup. Well did I ever make a good decision, by bringing it all since we had an amazing amount of buyers and everyone had great sales.molly mos 038

My sister Toni and I stayed the night in Dumbo and she helped me get set up at daylight. Did you know we were twins?

molly mos 022

Well not really, but we did have to have a new apron since Carol Curtis was there selling her creations. There were so so many cute ones, I couldn’t decide. I just got the same one Toni did, it seemed like a good idea at the time. It is overwhelming trying to choose, I love all of them. Carol says its like picking a puppy…

This was a close runner up.
